Right hand/Seemiller
Left hand/shakehand
Tom was a strong 1800+ Seemiller player for most of his life.
(For those who don't know, the racket is gripped with the thumb and index finger
across the backhand side at 10 and 2 o'clock, using the forehand side to actually hit
the ball on both the forehand and backhand stroke). Seemiller (or American style)
players are usually strong blockers and Tom was no exception. He would block
relentlessly & pick hit a weak return. About 5 years ago an injury along with some
restlessness prompted him to switch to left hand shakehand. He is now in the mid
1700's and is not the person you want to meet in your first round if you have plans on
advancing to Class A. He doesn't switch hit often, but when he does it's usually to
counter loop a shot to his right side Grubba style leaving heads shaking. (jp)

Tom is an asset to the club. As well as being Treasurer, he is active in every other
aspect including day to day management, tournaments, new member orientation &
whatever else may come up. He is Charlotte's table tennis Iron Man. He deserves
thanks & recognition for being a diligent volunteer.
